Father’s Day Encouragement

Hey Everyone!

Can’t believe it had been a long time since I wrote my last post.  I received a topic request to do a blog about encouragement for Father’s Day.  Today I celebrated Father’s Day early with my family.

Let’s see what God says about the duties of a Christian Father:

The Father is the head of the household.

Ephesians 5:23- “For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church...”

Fathers should bring their children up in the Lord

Ephesians 6:4- “ Fathers do not provoke your children to anger,  but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”

Children should listen to the advice of their Fathers

Proverbs 6:20- “ My son, observe the commandment of your father and do not forsake thecteaching of your mother.”

Proverbs 1:8-  “ Hear my son your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.”

Children should  obey and honor their parents in return:

Ephesians 6:1-3 “ Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right. Honor  your Father and Mothet (which is the first commandment with a promise so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.”

So we see that in the Christian family Fathers are the head of the household, must discipline their children and train them in the instruction of the Lord.  Children should honor and obey their parents in return as well.  If we put God in the center of the Christian family then He will bless us.

I pray everyone has a safe and happy Father’s Day tomorrow.

Until I write again,

Lauren
